Dive deep into Prague's history with our resident guide Pavel
Ahoj people,
Let me introduce myself. I am Pavel and have been living in the city of Prague for 20 years. Born in Tomsk, Russia, I once went to study in Dresden. During this time I also learned the basics of the German language. Eventually I ended up as a historian as a lecturer at the famous Charles University in Prague. After many wanderings I wanted to be busy with the profession of historian again, but the city of Prague is flooded with English-speaking historians. Finding work as a historian was therefore not very easy.
Coincidentally, I came into contact with colleague Huig , because I also had some command of the German language. Because I Love Praag is one of the few agencies in the city of Prague that offers guided tours in German, he saw me as a valuable person. However, German was not my native language and for a long time I had hardly used it at all, so that was still a stumbling block. I felt very honored that Huig wanted to support me for more than 6 months in improving my German language skills. As a result, I can now do what I love most every day, conveying the history of the city of Prague to other people.
It was a long and hard road but I am even more proud that I can be part of the enthusiastic team of I Love Praag and that I can call myself one of no more than fifteen German guides in the city of Prague. Will you dive into the history of the Czech Republic and the city of Prague with me?
