  • Why do I book my (free) tour in Bratislava through a company in the city of Prague?
The I Love/EURGO group operates throughout Europe and is therefore one of the largest players in the field of offering excursions such as walking tours in the most beautiful European cities. The goal of EURGO has always been to realize cost savings. Maintaining a website with specific tools such as a booking engine is very expensive to maintain. For this reason, we share a lot of infrastructure such as the website among ourselves. Bratislava is a fairly small and compact city and therefore this city shares the infrastructure with big brother Prague.
  • Are "free walking tours" really free?
The idea of "Free walking tours" is that you decide what you thought the tour was worth. Afterwards you can give an amount per person to the guide and give what you think it was worth. On average, this amount is between €10 and $50.
  • My Dutch tour is combined with an English tour, how is this possible?
The Netherlands and Belgium (Flanders) is only a small country. As a result, there may not be enough registrations for a Dutch tour. In an emergency, the Dutch tour may be combined with an English tour. However, the guide who accompanies your tour will speak Dutch, so you can ask any questions in Dutch.
  • Will I get to see as much during the free as during the other tours?
During our free tours you will see and hear a lot. Because payment is based on what you think the tour is worth, our guides do their best to earn as much as possible. A regular guide during the free tours, for example, is Huig (also the owner of I love Prague). With over 15 years of guiding experience in the city of Prague, he is seen as one of the best and most experienced Dutch and German speaking guides in Prague. Huig has even been recognized by the Czech state as a guide for the entire country, including other places such as Kutna Hora and Theresienstadt. Thanks to his years of experience in the city, he can show a lot, much more than the often young guides who work according to an instruction and history book.
  • How can I pay?
You can pay after the tour. You can pay with Czech Crowns or Euros. However, we prefer Czech Crowns because we have to exchange euros into Crowns ourselves, which entails costs. Unfortunately, we cannot accept Euro coins, only notes. We accept both banknotes and coins for the Czech Crown. All our guides are also equipped with a mobile ATM.
  • Why can I only make a reservation for a maximum of 6 people for the "free walking tours"?
Because nothing is paid in advance for the "free walking tours", the risk is much greater that a group will not show up. As a result, we are forced to enforce this rule so that we do not arrive at the starting point for nothing and the groups become far too small and therefore unprofitable. If we find that people from multiple different groups actually belong to the same group, we are forced to charge a deposit of €10 per person. This amount must be paid to the guide at the start of the tour.
  • Why is my booking handled through the head office in the Netherlands?
Many people sometimes wonder why their booking is handled in the Netherlands? In addition to being active in Prague under the name I Love Prague/ Prago, our parent company EURGO is active in many other European cities. By arranging the booking department centrally, we can save a lot of costs because the booking department works for multiple cities. This way of working and this form of cost efficiency can easily reduce the price of an excursion by 25%. Your first profit.
  • We are a group with more people than the indicated maximum group size, can we still book the tour?
This is unfortunately not technically possible via our website. However, we do not rule out the possibility that there are still possibilities for exceptions for your group, for example by having the tour carried out under the supervision of several guides. For your booking and to pass on your wishes, please contact us at: mail@i-love-praag.nl
  • Is it also possible to book a private tour?
Private tours cannot be booked via our website as standard. To book a private tour, please contact us at mail@i-love-praag.nl
  • Is public transport well organized in Prague?
Prague has one of the best public transport networks of all European cities. Prague has 3 Metro lines with a total length of more than 50 kilometers. The 3 lines intersect in a triangle in the city (prestupni staniche) namely at the stations "Muzeum", "Müstek" and "Florenc." In addition to the Metro, the city also has a large number of tram lines and a large network of bus lines, so that you almost always have access to public transport within a radius of less than 250 meters. You can use the trams, metros and buses on one ticket. Tickets can be bought for 30 minutes (24kc), 90 minutes (32kc), a whole day or 3 whole days. Transfers within the time of the ticket are allowed. You can buy the tickets in the machines at the subway entrances or at some hotels and kiosks.
  • Is there also Dutch-speaking staff present?
Dutch-speaking staff are present at both our location in Prague and at the EURGO head office in Hilversum, the Netherlands. You can also receive all correspondence such as booking confirmations in Dutch.
  • Can I order a taxi in Prague to get around?
Taxis are available everywhere. Always try to take a taxi that runs on the meter. You can hail a taxi by raising your hand. You can also book a taxi by calling yourself, or have this done by the receptionist of your hotel or restaurant. Examples of good taxi companies are; AAA taxi, City taxi and Profi taxi. In Prague you can also order Uber (via the App). There are more than 1,000 Ubers in Prague, so there is always one near you. However, the cheapest solution to move around Prague is public transport.
  • I booked a tour through a third party (e.g. GetYourGuide) and I paid a little more. Can I get the difference back?
Unfortunately this is not possible. third parties such as GetYourGuide charge a high commission. So we recommend that you book your next tour directly with us.
  • How can I pay?
You can pay with Euros or Czech Crowns. You can pay during your booking. Many tours also allow you to pay at the start of the tour. Please note that when you pay directly online, your spot is guaranteed at all times.
  • What language are the tours/guided tours in?
All tours/guided tours are available in Dutch, German and English as standard. On request we can also provide the tours / guided tours in other languages such as Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese or Afrikaans. Please contact us by e-mail at mail@i-love-praag.nl
  • Why is it best to book the desired excursion/tour with I Love Praag??
I Love Praag stands for experience and quality. We have just a bit more experience (more than 15 years) than our competitors, which means we can show you places/sights that you won't get to see with another provider. I Love Praag is part of. Prago stands for Go in Prague and is part of EURGO (Go in Europe), a major experienced player in providing excursions in major European cities such as Amsterdam, Utrecht, Antwerp, Brussels, Berlin, Rome and Paris. Our local guides are well informed about the city at all times. I Love Praag also does not charge any booking fees. You also often only have to pay at the start of the tour. Because we try to keep our overhead as low as possible, we are often also the cheapest. Our goal is to give people an unforgettable day in Prague.
  • Where is the starting point of a tour or excursion?
The starting place of a tour or excursion varies per excursion. You can find the address of the starting place in the booking confirmation. You will receive the booking confirmation by e-mail.
  • How do I get Czech Crowns?
We always advise every tourist to exchange some money in advance, for example at your bank or at GWK. You can pin Kronen anywhere in Prague. When you use the ATM, the ATM asks: with conversion or without conversion. Choose without conversion (the cheapest solution). You can of course also exchange euros at the exchange offices. Then look for an office with 0% commission. Be aware that certain offices charge very high commissions.
  • The tour I want to book is already fully booked, can I still make a booking?
We make a maximum number of tickets available in our booking system and in the systems of our partners so that the groups do not become too large. If there is extra demand for a particular tour on a day, we can sometimes make extra available, for example by organizing an extra tour or by having the tour accompanied by an extra guide. Please contact us for any possibilities. The fastest way to contact us is via the chat function on the website. You can also send an email to: mail@i-love-praag.nl
